Blenheim Coffee House/Hotel
Blenheim Street, Bond Street/ 94 New Bond Street

                                      1794-1838
The earliest reference to this house was a letter sent from Loughborough
in 1794. In 1796 directories give its address as New Bond Street and in
1803 it is described as "a respectable coffee room, with every necessary
accommodation for single gentlemen". By 1819 it is listed as Blenheim
Coffee House, Blenheim Street and also Blenheim Hotel and Coffee
House, New Bond Street. From 1822 onwards it was simply named
Blenheim Hotel, 94 New Bond Street and was under proprietorships as
follows: 1822-4 Jas. Fosbury; 1826-7 John Clarke; and 1838 J. Bennett.

A letter written at Bruce Castle, Tottenham by Mrs. P. Ede on 19tb
February 1822(although the datestamp states the 18th) to her brother
William Firth at Blenheim Hotel, Bond Street. The letter refers to her
unsuccessful endeavours to assist the son of one of her brother's friends,
Mr. Bronell,"into the India Houses" (a reference to the East India
  Company?)
