THE 1895 FIVE RUPEES PRINTINGS
Koeppel & Manners list two colours: chocolate and dull violet
This study shows that they are simply two shades in a given printing
1896 document usage of what may be two pairs, but is most likely a poorly applied block of four.
It shows one example (upper right) which could be described as chocolate. To the left of it is a paler
shade which might be described as a pale brown and below are two shades which might be described
as dull violet. If studying single stamps cut out of documents then several different colours could be
identified.
