THE FOUR ANNAS RED-BROWN AND ROSE PINK

               These two colours, defined by Koeppel and Manners are much more than just different colours,
               they have very different printings.


























































               This 1896 document on 4As paper shows three distinct version of the four annas stamps.

               (1) At the upper right, upper centre and in the bottom row are examples of the red-brown.
               (2) Between the upper centre and lower row are example of the pale red brown.
               (3) At the lower left are two examples of the rose-pink, with another at the lower right, which
                   are a different version of the same design.

                  This document is a Claim for a Debt of 442 rupees, made at the Civil Court of Kishangarh

                           The fee charged was 30 rupees and 6 annas (not all stamps are shown)
