Unlike Apollo 11 's over-run, the landing of Apollo 12's Intrepid was an exercise in precision, touchdown
being within 600ft (185m) of the unmanned Surveyor 3 probe which had landed thirty-one months ear-
lier. Any closer and there was concerns that the descent stage engine would throw dust over Surveyor.
