While there they took time to pose like tourists, although, sadly, Bean could not find the self-timer device he had smuggled
aboard with the intention of photographing himself with Conrad by Surveyor. He had wanted to play a prank on the post-
mission photo analysts as they struggled to work out how the picture could have been taken. The picture is hand signed by
Alan Bean.
