                   Double rate paid letter (closed mail to San Francisco rate 11212) from Glasgow. Letter double rate for
                   enclosure: Separate letter enclosed for sending onward to Honolulu.


                   Sent by British packet, Cunard Golden Gate. Manuscript routing indication, "per Steamer from
                   Liverpool via United States" to indicate overland routing instead of sea route alternative via Panama.
                   10 June, Liverpool, 31  July San Francisco arrival.

                   mines, creating trade and a new economy suppling goods and services.
