Type 3 Handstamp with Handstruck Censor Number 1 in Half-Oval
When used on civilian correspondence a censor number was always handstruck in a half-oval alongside the
PASSED BY CENSOR strike.

              7 February 1918 - Freetown Garrison to Los Angeles, USA. Apparent military use with Censor Number 1.

                              21 June 1918 - Freetown to Huddersfield, United Kingdom. Censor Number 1.
