Type 2 Handstamp
From November 1917 a mixed case handstamp was used reading ‘Passed by Censor’. The only censor’s number
recorded is ‘3’.

                              26 November 1917 - Freetown to Cape Town, South Africa. Censor Number 3.
                                This card is the earliest recorded example of the use of Handstamp Type 2.

                               The picture side of this postcard show the shop of Lisk-Carew, who published
                                many photographic cards featuring life in Sierra Leone. (Illustrated at 75%)
