1888 - 1891		 UPU Specimens. Crown CA Watermark. Perf. 14.

The new 1s red-brown and 2½d ultramarine were overprinted Type 12 and sent to the UPU in 1888 and
1891 respectively. At this time, 345 of each stamp were distributed. Specimens of the 1½d pale violet and 3d
yellow values were not sent to the UPU as they were not new colours.

1889		 Locally Produced Specimens. Crown CA Watermark. Perf. 14.
These diagonal overprints were applied in Freetown with a style of overprint not used elsewhere. The stamps
were probably used for presentation sets. The 1½d pale violet and 3d yellow values were included.
