Customs Ports Ovals
Records show that customs ports were opened at Combraymah, Lavannah, Manoh Salijah, Shaingay and
Sulymah on 22 January 1884; these were all used as post offices from that year. Combraymah closed in 1885,
but the others went on to become full post offices on 1 December 1892. Initially these customs offices used an
oval undated canceller on mail. One similar impression has been recorded for York.
