Rokupr was opened as a postal agency in the northern Kambia District on
21 March 1939. The initial handstamp was a three-line device that was
completely different to any other Sierra Leone postmark. Still open in 1961.
The second handstamp is often recorded between 1943 and 1949 with the code
set to ‘19’; it is probable that this is the first two digits of the year.
