Proclamation .

According to decree of 11 and 12 September this year, the Norwegian Boy Scouts Associalion, the
Norwegian Girl Guides Association, the Salva/ion Army 's Life Saving Scouts (divisions for boys
and girl5) , and !he Norwegian YWCA Girl Guides are dissolved. All properties shall be handed
over to the appointed representative, captain Bjorn Falchenberg, Stortingsgaten 12, !1!, Oslo.

All the Scouting eq uipment had to be deposited , a ltho ugh quite some was successfully
hidde n away, and Scouting activ ites we re prohibited. Many he ld concealed meetings,
some joined the Home Front resi stance movement, othe rs fled to Sweden a nd England.

It is noteworthy that Mr. Falchenberg who is mentioned in the decree had
been emp loyed as travelling secretary for the Boy Scouts Associat ion until
the decree date, and as such had detai led knowledge of the assets of the
various Scout units. He was sentenced to eight years in prison after the war.
