Scouting Around the World Norway

In 1946, Norwegian Girl Guide Assoc iation held the first large camp after the war, to
ce lebrate their 25 th anniversary. The jubi lee camp was for Guide Leaders and Ranger
Guides. On the program was a visit to Stiklestad, famous for the battle in I030 where
King Olaf " the Big" Haraldsson of Norway was ki ll ed. He was later canoni zed - St. Olaf.
The fi eld post office in the camp used a spec ial postmark (N-009) from 29 July to 5 August.
