Scouting Around the World Norway
Scouting saw a boost in membership numbers after WW II , and with its 12,000 participants the 1948 camp
of the Norwegian Boy Scout Association was the largest Scout camp in Norway prior to Nordjamb in 1975.
The camp was called " Speiderbyen" (The Scout C ity). The field post office in the camp used a specia l
hand cance l (N-0 12) from 2 to 12 July and a machine cance l with camp slogan (N-013) 3-12 July.
In add ition the field post office also was eq uipped with an officia l signet or sea l; use of this is not recorded.
