The Jetter was intended for the return flight of the German airship LZ 129 "Hindenburg"' s
first 1937 flight to North America. "Hindenburg" caught fire and was destroyed on 6 May
1937 while attempting to dock with its mooring mast at Lakehurst, New Jersey. The Jetter
was then transported via surface mail to Europe. Arrival postmark "VEDB!EK 18.5.37".
