Jamaica Telegraph.
Stamped telegraph despatch form, 1s, 20 October 1879.
Specimen.
De La Rue printed the stamped forms in
books of 20. Post offices sold them at £1
0s 3d per book.
The forms and the embossed 1s pink
stamp were similar to the British model.
The front of the form, like the unpaid
form, allows for up to 30 words, at 1s 6d.
The box around the stamp is captioned
‘Space for Stamps’ to allow for uprating,
but there is little space remaining.
These stamped forms were referred to
by the Post Office as Form A.1., but this
is not printed on the face, unlike the
unpaid forms printed by Waterlow.
Copy of the back.
