Jamaica Telegraph.
Stamped telegraph despatch form, 6d, 2 December 1911.
Inland telegraph rates were changed on
1 January 1911, to allow 12 words for 6d
and ½d for each additional word. On the
new form De La Rue printed the Arms 6d
design, first issued as a postage and
revenue stamp on 18 August. This was
economical, using the existing die, but
did result in this and subsequent
telegraph forms bearing the legend
‘Postage and Revenue’.
The redesigned form was now clearly
labelled ‘A’ and also allowed room for
uprating with adhesives.
