Rated 1s in adhesives with 1(d) due to Jamaica PO.
This rate seems to consist of the 6d rate to the UK plus the standard 6d for UK to India.
All known covers up to 1863 are rated 1s.
In November 1861 the Jamaica Post Office withdrew many obliterators and reissued them to other offices.
This was intended to maintain the consistency of numerical and alphabetical office names.
A43 was transferred from Gordon Town to Goshen and A42 from Golden Spring to Gordon Town.
Some offices delayed returning their obliterators, dragging out the exercise (as in the case of Gordon Town).

In 1863 the rate between Jamaica and the UK increased to 1s, the rate from the UK to India remaining at 6d.
This cover (and others) is rated 1s5d in adhesives with 1(d) due to the Jamaica PO.
It appears that the UK element was reduced by 1d.
