The Jamaica UK rate increased to 1s in 1863 and this and a few other covers should have been rated at 1s5d
However, no underpaid charge is evident on any of the similarly rated covers.

In Mar 1868, the rate between the UK and India (via Southampton) increased to 9d.
This cover, rated 1s9d in adhesives with 1(d) due to Jamaica PO, therefore consisted of the Jamaica to UK at 1s plus 9d to India.
The correct rate for normal mail was probably 1s8d.
However, the Officer rate of 6d was introduced in Jan 1868 and this cover appears to be eligible.
Other covers in that period are rated: 1s8d, 1s5d, 1s – which probably demonstrates the complete confusion that existed.
