THE UNEVEN AND DOUBLE PRINTINGS

                                                       1886 UNEVEN

                                                       LOOSE UNEVEN

These two uneven printings might have been described as red, especially the 1886 example. However the
reddish colour is due solely to the abnormal blotches of poorly mixed dyes where dye particles can be seen.
Additionally, the loose stamp has very poorly printed, almost blank, areas at lower left.

                                                    1905 DOUBLE PRINTING

The 1905 double printing shows evidence of uneven mixing of the dye, as well as the clear doubling, caused
by the first attempt being a very pale pink, which has been overprinted to produce the desired colouring.
