Mail destined for Paris addresses received an entirely numeric indexation dispensing with any
reference to either the departement number 75 or the city's name. The coding operator wou ld
key in the arrondissement number and press the short-cut key PARIS to attain a full numeric
indexation. Similarly mail for TPOs departing from the Gare de Lyon was assigned a special

numeric code the application of which involved the use of the REPETITION short-cut key.
