DEPARTEMENT MAJORITE AND CEDEXVARIANTS
Due to the limitations of the short-lived Arcueil 1 programme, the last three digits of a town's
postcode were ignored on mail for some departements and substituted by a departement
majoritevariant ending in 999. Similarly, CEDEX customers (Courrier d'Entreprise aDistribution
Exceptionne/le) had their unique postcodes transcribed instead with the suffix 888.
