The La Source 2 programme using L.I.A.P. technology began operation at the Orleans-la-Source
sorting office on 25 March 1974 and, as before, the bulk of the mail treated was from financial
and utility services. Manual coding desks were brought into operation to supplement the L.I.A.P.
in August 1974. The language is still in use today.
