Although Queen Victoria died in January 1901 it was not until October 1902 that the Edward VII stamps were
printed, and despatched on 31 December 1902. The 1d was put on sale in May 1903, with the other values
available from August 1903. Plate 1 was used for all values; Plates 2a and 2b were used for the 1d only.
