Vignette Plate Varieties
On Vignette Plate (1), the number ‘41004’ appears in the top margin 12mm above Stamp 1/3. It is normally
guillotined off, but can be found on stamps with a broad top selvage. There is also a thin vertical guideline
above the same stamp.
A constant variety exists of a vertical scratch to the stern of the small boat on the extreme left edge of the
vignette. This has so far been recorded on the 3d and 1s values. It has not yet been plated.
