Kissy
Kissy
Kissy is now part of suburban Freetown, but was originally a village on the eastern
side of the capital. It was a station on the railway to the interior. A postal agency
opened on 10 October 1892 and remained open until independence in 1961.
Kissy Road is a close by, but different, postal agency.
12 July 1890 - 1½d postal stationery card from Kissy to London, UK. Sent two years before the local agency was opened.
2 May 1955 - Kissy to Kilmarnock, United Kingdom. Paid at the 1s 3d air mail rate, plus 4d registration fee.
