Scouting Around the World                                                                         Norway

The Kandersteg International Scout Centre in Switzerland has a long history of camps, starting with the 50th Gi lwell
Scout course, organized in 1926, and the Ist World Scout Moot with 2,500 Rover Scouts from 23 countries in 193 1.
After the war, in 1953, the 5th World Scout Moot was back in Kandersteg with 4,000 Rovers from
22 countries, and in 1992 again the 9th World Scout Moot saw nearly 2,500 people from over 50 countries.

38 Rover Scouts represented Norway at the 1953 World Rover Moot in Switzerland.
The special postmark was used from 29 July to 8 Aug. Postcards sent by Moot
participants to Norway, with special postmark in black (above) and violet (below).
