The Norwegian Boy Scouts Association held a patro l leader camp in Rensada len near Skiinland between Harstad
and Narv ik in Northern Norway. 275 patrol leaders and ass istin g patro l leaders atte nded. The camp was ca ll ed
"The camp where the sun never went down" due to its locati on north of the Arctic C ircle. The rural post office that
operated in the camp used a spec ial postmark (N-018) 9-15 July. The postmark was of the crown-and-posthorn
type without date, and posta l ite ms sho uld according to regu lations be postmarked with a datestamp when the
items arrived at a post office with such postmark, in thi s case Harstad post office. Thi s was often neglected .
