Scouting Around the World              Denmark

Det Danske Spejderkorps - ODS (The Danish Boy Scouts Association) was founded in 1909.
1913 - the first large camp hosted by Det Danske Spejderkorps took place on the peninsula Kal0 near
Ronde on the east coast of Jutland. 600 Boy Scouts from all over Denmark participated, even guests
from the YMCA Boy Scouts and from the Sea Scouts. The international aspect was covered by a
troop of24 boys from a mining area in northeastem England, and I0-12 Boy Scouts from Sweden.
In 1921 , 1600 "yellow" Boy Scouts were gathered at Hindsgavl near Middelfart for the 2"d ODS
national camp. There were also participants from England, Norway and Sweden.

1913 - the first DOS national Scout camp - Postcard sent from Vordingborg to the Kall0 Scout camp,
where the rural cance l is app lied and the card is redirected first to Nyborg and then to Copenhagen.

             The first official Scout postmark of the World , used by the rural postman at Kall0
                    "POSTKONTORET I SPEJDERLEJREN KALL0 PR. R0NDE"
                             (The post office in the Scout camp at Kall0 near Ronde).

1919 - the second ODS national Scout camp - Camp viewcard (Boy Scouts digging trenches) written by Boy Scout in camp
   and sent to Copenhagen. Postmarked "MIDDELFART 22 7 19". The camp post office did not have a special postmark.
