                                                                              8 Schillinge overseas letter to Scotland
                     I Ith February 186 7, Wrapper sent to Kolding with  I 'A  Schilling lilac Duchy of
                     Schleswig (Mi 14). Cancelled with Prussian double eds CHRISTIANSFELD and
                                         backstamped with KOLDING arrival.
                     The Postal agreement of August 1865 (Circular 11/1865) introduced a border postal rate of I ~
                        Schilling between Kolding, Skodborghus and Ribe on the Danish side and Christiansfeld,
                                     Hadersleben, Lugumkloster, and T ondern on the other.
             00 20th February 186 7, Envelope bearing four individual 2 Schilling Duchy of Schleswig stamps
          (Mi 16) cancelled with Prussian eds HADERSLEBEN in  Haderslev, and sent to Leith in Scotland. W ith
            boxed P.D. (Paid to Destination) and London transit mark LONDON - EC DX PAID. On reverse
           arrival part eds (EDI)N B M for the Carlisle-Edinburgh travelling post office. It must be presumed that
                                 the rate to the United Kingdom was eight Schillinge. (E)
