                             A  philatelic highlight of the Apollo flights were the Apollo 15 Moon covers. Apollo 15 launched on

                              26th July 1971 from Kennedy Space Centre with Dave Scott, Al  Worden and Jim  Irwin, carrying 100


                              'Sieger Moon covers'  aboard.  They were flown  by Irwin  and  Scott in the  LEM  Falcon  on  30th July

                             1971 to the Moon (handwritten confirmation in top-left corner). After three days on the Moon the


                              crew  with  its  special  cargo  returned  to  Earth  on  7th  August  1971  and  were  recovered  by  USS

                              Okinawa  after splashdown. This cover #058 has a notary endorsement that it was carried by Falcon

                             to the Moon, July 30-August 2, 1971.
