The Canal Zone Postal Service, which served eighteen post offices and had limited postal facilities,

provided many of the special services available in the United States, while avoiding the bewildering

procedural complexity used in the giant U.S. postal system. This card is endorsed 'Address correction

requested', asking the Post Office to supply a new address if the addressee had moved. The U.S.

procedure involving special forms was replaced by this easier method. The new address was simply

written on the original piece of mail and then returned to the sender, who paid lOC for the service.
