POLISH POST OFFICE IN KAMIENIEC
PODOLSKI ON UKRAINIAN TERRITORY
From t he collection of Professor Julian Auleytner.
M ember since 2012. Lives in Poland.
Local censored letter mailed from Kamieniec Podolski to Minneapolis on 19th June 1920. Adapted
post - Russian date stamp KAMIENIEC- POD. 19 6 20. It is the only known letter from Kamieniec
Podolski to have been sent abroad. Kamieniec was under Polish control during the war with
Bolsheviks, from mid-November 1919 to 7th July 1920. This cover is particularly rare because of the
very short period that the civil Polish post operated in Ukrainian territory and the very rare military
censorship postmark. It was auctioned on eBay in March 2012 starting at $6 and reached $4000!
