                             At the RPSL: The International Philatelic Union celebrated its fiftieth anniversary with a non-


                              competitive exhibit ion at 41 Devonshire Place and many RPSL members participated.

                             The North Borneo Company obtained its Charter from Queen Victoria in 1881 and in 1931 celebrated

                              its SOth  Anniversary. The Company had a poor reputation  in the philatelic market and to repudiate

                             this they issued  a display of the very best in  philatelic artistry, part of which is this stunning Orang


                              Utan, a delightful Bornean Great Ape. The stamps were engraved by J. A. C.  Harrison of Great Britain

                              Seahorse fame.  Printed by Waterlow, this is regarded  by some as one of the most beautiful stamps

                              ever produced.
