invented; Elvis Presley, Julie Andrews, Woody Allen and the Dalai Lama born.
At the RPSL: The Royal Silver Jubilee Exhibition of British Empire Victorian rarities was held
at the Society and visited by the King. A celebratory dinner was held at the Cafe Royal. A lady
member presented a major display for only the second time, after a gap of sixty-two years.
RPSL President was Sir John Wilson, Bart, C.V.O. Patron H.M. King George V. Members 483.

Mozambique second airmail series - original hand painted essay by 'Waterlow & Sons Ltd' . Accepted
design for the 1935 airmail rectangular issue. 1 Escudo Armstrong-Whitworth A.W. 15 Atalanta
Airliner over Beira. Black plane on blue background in larger design than the issued stamp. Mounted
on sunken card with 'Waterlow & Sons Ltd. Specimen' embossed. The vignette and frame were used
for the issued stamp but the background colour was changed to black. The frame was slightly altered
and the colour changed to a darker blue.
