NEWFOUNDLAND
A NEW 'IMPERFORATE BETWEEN' VARIETY
From the collection of Richard Berry FRPSL.
Member since 2010. Lives in England.
This is the discovery piece of the line perf 14 "imperforate
between" variety of the 48c value from the Newfoundland
1937 Coronation "long set". Previously it was only known
at line perf 13Yi.
This tiny perforation difference proves that two sheets
had perforation problems. Each sheet went through a
different perforating machine. Previously it was thought
only one sheet was affected.
It was waiting to be discovered by me, as proven by it first
being listed in the Stanley Gibbons Part 1 catalogue in
2016 as SG267b. I reckon the "b" is for Berry, which has
personalised my discovery for posterity!
