The coding desk operator at Arcueil applied the outward code using the 999 dipartement
majoriti suffix to direct the letter to the dipartement of Nord (59). Once at Lille, the chef-lieu

of Nord, the item was processed again using the direct sorting equipment for onward transmission

to Bouchain (59111). However, the letter was missent to Jeumont (59460) where a Fausse
Direction handstamp was applied before being redirected, on 10 July, to its correct destination.

Passing again through Lille, it received a second direct sorting ident.
