Although several different bisected Victorian stamps are known on cover, all apart from the six pence value
are considered to be philatelically inspired.
Freetown to Dakar, Senegal. Arrival backstamp of 23 Mar 1892.
In March 1892 the half-ounce letter rate to Senegal was 4d. The sender of this letter used half of a 6d stamp
with a 1d stamp to make the correct rate.
