A small number of letters were sealed with wax. Numbers 1 to 3 are recorded. All are seldom encountered,
with only two examples of Censor Number 2 being recorded.
1 April 1940 - Registered surface mail from Bonthe to London, United Kingdom.
Backstamped at Freetown (3 Apr) and London (24 Apr).
Rate 3d first ounce, plus 2d for one extra ounce, plus 3d registration fee: total postage 8d.
Back of envelope.
Reduced to 75%.
This letter received the Type 2 Handstamp, resealing tape Type 1b and another wax seal.
