Gerihun Gerihun
The village of Gerihun developed when the railway was built through it. A
railway office opened on 1 April 1912, but closed in late 1915. It re-opened on
13 March 1925 and remain so until 1961. A skeleton handstamp was used for
over four years, by far the longest such use. The day number was often set in the
position that the code normally appeared, and the year was set as four digits.
