Kaballa                                               
                                                                             Kaballa
Kaballa opened as a post office on 1 November 1899, and was still open at
independence on 27 April 1961. It is in the extreme north of the country.
Before the northern branch line of the railway was competed, mail from
Kaballa travelled by carrier and canoe to Port Loko, where it picked up the
weekly service by the mail launch Sybil to Freetown.
