cancelled with target numeral canceller 17 and datestamped Ant Ill FREDERICIA. On reverse
arrival eds KI0BENHA VN.
The Fredericia post office had to move several times during the war since the town was under siege and was
completely abandoned by the Danes for two weeks from 29th April until the first armistice on I 2th May. The
Fredericia cancellers were used throughout the period, even when the office was located in Strib across the Little
Belt on the island of Fyn.

25th March 1864, Envelope sent from Fredericia (Strib) to Ulfborg near Holstebro. Franked with
1863 4 Skilling cancelled by target numeral canceller 17 and datestamped eds Ant Ill FREDERICIA.
On 2<>1" March the post office moved to Strib, on Fyn, and stayed there until 2ot11 April.
The Fredericia post office was located at Strib at this time having moved from Fredericia on 20th March 1864.
