AMUSING SUBSTITUTE FOR A STAMP









































                                  1902 FOUR ANNA OIL PRINTING USED IN KISHANGARH


                 In this case the employee of the Stamp Duty Office needed to add an extra four annas charge,

                 but there were no stamps available at the time, for some unknown reason.

                   As a substitute, he drew an outline of a stamp, to the left of the seal and wrote in Hindi:

                                                     TICKET CHAR ANNAS

                                                     Which translates as

                                                  FOUR ANNAS EXTRA PAID
