On 3rd January 2012 the 'Stamp Duties (Amendment) Act (Commencement) Notification 2012' was
issued. This officially brought to an end Revenue Adhesive Stamps in the Republic of Singapore by
finally enacting sections of Act 33 1999, from when electronic stamping had been introduced. The
Act repealed from Stamp Duty legislation the definition of Adhesive Stamps and their use. In 2012
with the Revenue Stamps no longer valid, the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore, to celebrate its
twentieth anniversary, sold off sets comprising sheets of $1 to $50,000 - with the proceeds going to
the Singapore President's charity 'President's Challenge 2012'.
