I 87 I. The rate by private ship was 9d for Yz oz.
The mail packet rate for Yz oz was Is 3d in I865 but appears to have changed to Is 5d in I866.
The '300 ' mark was applied in Madeira as the internal postage charge. 28 days in transit from Cape Town.
