Sussex Sussex
The postal agency at Sussex opened at 17 Gabriel Street in the village on
2 November 1952. It closed on 25 March 1961, a few weeks before independence.
The post was exchanged with Freetown twice weekly. Sussex is situated on the
Atlantic coast, ten miles south of Freetown. Despite its relative recent existence,
Sussex is a rare office with examples difficult to collect.
Type 148.01
