           * 9012  NEWS  [December 15-18, 1690]

                The late blowing Weather and contrary Winds having hindred the passage of the Pacquet Boats, we are now wanting
            three Mails from Holland, and five from Flanders.


            * 91O1  NEWS  (Whitehall, March 11, 1691)  {Julian Calendar. March 11, 1690}

                Their Majesties  have  been pleased by  Letters  Patents  under  the  Great Seal,  to  Grant the  Office  of Post  Master
            General unto Sir Robert Cotton of Hattley St.  George in the County of Cambridge, Kt. and Thomas Frankland Esq; who have
            accordingly taken possession of the same.



            * 910 2  NEWS  [March 12-16, 1691]  {Julian  Calendar. March 12-16, 1690}
                Whereas all  Letters going  and  coming by Post to and  from  the  General  Letter Office  in London  to  the Towns  of

            Chesterfield in the County of Derby, and to Sheffield in the County of York,  have hitherto been sent by way of Northampton
            and Derby;  and the Letters to and from  the said Letter-Office to Mansfield and Nottingham by way of Tuxford and Newark:
            These are  to Notifie,  That all  Letters directed  to the  places  aforesaid,  and  parts  adjacent,  will,  for  the  future,  be sent
            through to Sheffield by way of Kettering in the County of Northampton, and Melton-Mowbray in the County of Leicester, as
            well upwards as downwards, three times in every week, to and from  the said Letter-Office, on the usual Post-days, without
            any other Charge to the Persons, to whom such Letters shall be directed, but the due Postage only: And in order thereunto,
            the Post will begin to go this Road on Thursday the 26th of this instant March, and will in like manner return accordingly.



            * 9103  NEWS  [June 18-22, 1691]
                The Season of Drinking the Tunbridge Wells Waters being now at hand; These are to Notify, That the Post will, during
            the said  Season, go  constantly from  the  General  Letter-Office in London  to  Tunbridge  every night  in  the  Week except
            Sundays,  and  will  in  like  manner  return from  thence  as  well  on Sundays  as  every other  day in the Week,  and  in  order
            thereunto it will begin on Monday the 22d of this instant June.


           * 9201  NEWS  [January 21-25, 1692]  {Julian Calendar. January 21-25, 1691}

                Whereas the  Letters going  and  coming  to  and from  London,  to  the Town  of Southam  in Warwickshire,  have  been
            hitherto but Irregularly Conveyed, These are to give  Notice that all such Letters which shall for the future be directed to
           Southam as  aforesaid, and Places adjacent if sent to the  General Letter-Office in London, on the Three usual Post Days
           will be forwarded thither by Post; where one John  Comish is appointed to receive and disperse them, and duely to Collect
           and return Answers accordingly; in order to which,  the first Bag for  that Place was sent from  the General Post-Office on
           Saturday Night last, the 23d instant.


           * 9 2 0 2  NEWS  [April 7-11, 1692]

                These are to give Notice, That during the Continuance of the Fleet at the Buoy in the Nore, a Post will be sent thither
           every Day in the Week, from  the General Letter-Office in London, by way of Gravesend, from  whence Care is  taken to
           forward the same; and to bring back Answers  accordingly, Wind and Weather permitting, being to begin on Monday the
           Eleventh ofthis Instant April.
