The Sixpence Stamp 1859 to 1895
‘Dot After Six’ Variety
Surprisingly, this constant plate marking was not documented by philatelists until 1962. The discovery of the
variety on a stamp from the first printing shows that the flaw was introduced either during the manufacture
of the plate, or as the result of damage during the initial print run.
