          Date stamped DAMPSK:POST-SPED/No 5. bearing two 4Sk crown and sceptre stamps cancelled
        with indistinct three ring numeral and marked 2  postage due. Arrival eds for AL TONA 2°d November.


         Postage between the Kingdom of Denmark and the Duchies of Holstein and Lauenburg, and Hamburg was increased from
                                4 to 8 Skilling for prepaid letters on  lst April (Circular 11/1864).

             Prepaid with  1864 4 Skilling crown and sceptre and cancelled with duplex three ring canceller
         KBH.JB.PST.CT + 34 for K0benhavn main railway station post office. Arrival eds for APENRADE.

         Sent during the period without postal agreement between Denmark and Schleswig, which lasted from 4t11  March  1864 to I •t
                                  August  1865, therefore paid  at the pre-war rate of 4 Skilling.
