:XVll. The Second Armistice Period - 20th July  1864         Prussian penalty rate, strafporto, on Lolland mail
                                                            Thurn and Taxis paid to Hamburg then carried by field post

































          0  I 4th August  1864, Entire letter addressed to Randers in Jutland from Nakskov on Lolland with 4
               Skilling crown and sceptre and three ring numeral 43 datestamped eds Ant Ill  NAKSKOV.
                          On 24m July  1864 the Prussian field  post service took over mail handling in Jutland.
                                 On 9m August nine ports on the Jutland east coast were opened.
               Mail received at these ports was delivered with the addition of six Skilling, 6 "strafporto" i.e. penalty postage.



































            0  0  I 8th July  1864, Thurn and Taxis 9 Kreutzer postal stationery envelope U24 Ila correctly
         cancelled 288 Rudolstadt sent to the Combined Cavalry Division in  North Jutland. The regular rate to
           Denmark from Thurn and Taxis was  14 Kreutzer. This letter is paid to Hamburg, and then carried
                 through the field  post to Jutland. Note the endorsement Feldpostbrief frei Hamburg. (E)
